• e-book titles can be downloaded from Web sites and other sources to desktop computers, laptops, dedicated reading devices, and PDAs.

• e-book content that is not in the public domain is encrypted to prevent copying, printing, and sharing. (The user may be required to obtain a decryption "key.")

• Readers can interact with e-book content by means of:
1. automatic page-scrolling
2. "go to" page/chapter feature
3. text searches
4. digital bookmarks
5. digital annotations
